James R. Jude (June 7, 1928 – July 28, 2015) was an American thoracic surgeon who was one of the developers of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) who was a local HERO and preserved Maple Lake's History.

Peter and Mary (McCormack) Hamm Home, 426 Division St. E.
Peter arrived in Maple Lake in 1904. He was a pioneer merchant in the community. He first partnered with Otto Reich before operating his own store. He retired giving the reins to his son Andrew J. He served several terms as village councilman. He had a deep interest in baseball as early as 1906, played on and managed a Maple Lake baseball team. Home burned to ground February 1989.

Bernard served as Mayor of Maple Lake from 1948 to 1951. Cecelia was a school teacher. Starting in 1913, Cecelia taught elementary grades in Maple Lake for 4 years. The Judes started Jude Candy and Tobacco Co. in 1935. This wholesale business was started out of their garage and gradually grew. They later moved this business to other locations in Maple Lake.

Leo F. and Lillian (Leahy) Weismann home. - 215 Star Street E.
Leo worked a number of trades such as watch repair, Optical business, and also the car business. In 1927 He opened the Weismann General and Jewelry Store in Maple Lake. He later added groceries to the store. He sold his business in 1961 but continued watch repair in Halsten’s Hardware until his death in 1968. He served on the Maple Lake Council as a clerk for 20 years.

Albert and Agnes (Elsenpeter) Westrup home.
In 1890 he established a lumberyard in Maple Lake. He was one of the leading businessmen and citizens of the town for over 50 years. He was instrumental in starting two banks in town. In 1895 he opened Maple Lake State Bank. In 1907 he was the first President of Security State bank until 1941. He was also the Mayor of Maple Lake 1916-1919 (Location was present site of Dingmann Funeral Home)

Dr. Arthur L. and Ruth (Leahy) Wrucke home. - 110 Star Street East
Dr. Wrucke was a dentist in Maple Lake. He started his practice in 1920 in an office in the Happe Hotel building. This building later on became the American Legion building. He was located in this building for 54 years. He was the Chairman for the Maple Lake School Board of Education from 1937 to 1952. Ruth was a piano teacher.
