Maple Lake Library

Sue began her service to Maple Lake as a teacher, but her contributions to her community have amounted to so much more.  She served nine years on the Maple Lake School Board before moving on to her most notable project the Maple Lake Library.  Sue helped pioneer the all-volunteer library beginning in 2009.  She recruited and trained over 30 volunteers.  She has been a volunteer librarian, archivist, and genealogist.  Through her love of local history, she has helped those in her community uncover their family past and documented their family stories, often shared with the community in the local newspaper.  Sue is truly a community mover and she has fully earned this award.
