Maple Lake Library is pleased to announce its Early Winter Art Show featuring the works of Annandale artist, Mary Holmgren. The exhibit begins November 2 and will continue until December 30, 2026.

Water color is the primary medium Mary uses to express her artistic vision. Her paintings, rich in color and shapes, have evolved from traditional landscapes to non-traditional abstractions, inspired by water, trees, and jazz — sometimes incorporating mixed media and collage.

After receiving  formal training from both Bemidji State University (B.S.) and the University of Minnesota (M.Ed.), Mary taught art for 38 years to both children and adults in schools, at local and regional art centers, and at area community colleges. In addition to a career as an educator, Mary has enjoyed a long history (since 1982) of having her artwork showcased locally and regionally in exhibitions, competitions, galleries, and studio sales.
